It's not about getting into shape, it's about getting into life!

Discover Fitness and Wellness with AlaskaFit!

We at AlaskaFit understand that hiring a personal trainer can seem a little intimidating. What can a trainer do for me? What should I be looking for? What questions should I ask? Here are a few things to look for to help you make your decision. Click on the blue text for even more information.

  • Qualifications: Is s/he certified by a nationally recognized, reputable agency such as ACE, NASM, AFFA?
  • Reputation: Has s/he inspired success in others? Can you contact other clients to find out more about the trainer?
  • Flexible schedule and products: Can s/he work with my schedule or offer innovative options to help me reach my goals?
  • Answers to your fitness questions: Can s/he answer your fitness questions? Are the answers supported by scientific research or are they simply opinions?
Once you have the answers to your questions contact your trainer, and set up your first meeting. Your training should be fun, engaging, beneficial and help you to maintain health and wellness over the course of your lifetime. That doesn't mean you make a lifetime commitment to your trainer, but it does mean you make a lifetime commitment to yourself. Remember, it's not about getting into shape, it's about getting into life!
