With permission from one of our clients, I am sharing a note she sent us today. This is why we do what we do.
“On my drive home I thought even more about your question to me about being a student vs the teacher. One important thought I didn’t tell you at the time, and which is MOST dear to me is, that for the first time EVER, I have become aware that I am allowing myself to be directed and taught.
As you can probably tell, I am used to being in charge. Although there have been just a few classes and contact meetings, I can sincerely tell how you and the entire staff at AlaskaFit are focused on each person individually. Because of that pervasive sense of support and knowledge you all give so well, I feel like I am at the right place in my life. It’s just what I need and I am so appreciative that I can relax and let someone else be in charge for a change. I am able to be just the student. It is refreshing (hard work) but just what I need personally, right now.
While we were in the introductory lesson, I heard you allude to the fact that you will be “strict and direct” in the workouts. I am glad. That is what I think I have needed and wanted for so long. Someone strong enough to guide ME and be willing to push me the right direction I need to go. My tears today were more of pure gratefulness. Mostly because God has directed me here to Alaska Fit and that I am lucky enough to have the RIGHT people helping me with this venture of mine.
I believe in being genuine and giving praise when and where it is deserved. No fluff. Each person at AlaskaFit is incredibly knowledgeable and authentic in his/her practice. That is what we call “best practice excellence” in the art of teaching.
I highly value your words and guidance. Truly. You are a CLEAR, SMART, and VALUABLE instructor.
Lucky for me!
See you Wednesday,
