Here I am, two months into personal training and the results were not what I had been hoping for. I’ve been feeling stronger and clothes have been fitting better, but the body-fat changes I was hoping for weren’t happening. In fact, I’ve been losing the muscle mass I’ve been working so hard to get. Why suffer through the fun but brutal workouts only to lose muscle?
I think I had fallen in to the mindset that know that I’m working out more I don’t have to pay too much attention to what I’m eating and drinking. Ginny warned me that I needed to make some changes to what I was eating, but I thought, “Right, I know what I’m doing.” Turns out, I had no idea what I was doing!
Ginny suggested I come in and go through the Resting Metabolic Rate testing and get on the AlaskaFit KickStart Nutrition plan (they have this amazing machine that actually told me exactly how many calories I should be eating and then gave me a meal plan that tells me what and when to eat AND a shopping list so I can just go buy what I need…super-easy!)
So, with Ginny’s help I have made some changes in my nutrition and it’s amazing the difference I’m feeling in just one week! I’m eating breakfast for the first time in 15 years! It was a hard adjustement but it’s really working. I have more energy all day long for work and for my work outs. I have started upping my cardio between personal training sessions and am now able to run 3 miles at time! Huge progress for me.
